Dear Visitor,
The Formula SAE team at Western Washington University
would like to thank you for reviewing our website and becoming
acquainted with all our current and past Viking Formula racecars.
Viking XXX, the latest creation by Vehicle Research Institute
(VRI) students, is our most recent entry in the Society of Automotive
Engineer's (SAE) collegiate design competition, Formula SAE. Paul
Van Valkenburgh of Racecar Engineering Magazine said that Viking
XXX was "by far the most sensational entry ever seen in all
20 years of FSAE." Viking XXX features a student designed
and manufactured 554cc V8 engine that Autoweek Magazine called
"an absolute stunner." Viking XXX was also featured
in Road & Track Magazine and several times in RaceTech Magazine.
The students at the VRI, a group that
Road & Track Magazine called "car enthusiasts to the
extreme," are currently developing their next FSAE car, Viking
XXXV. This is your opportunity to build strong ties with the VRI
and its students. Our team operates entirely on the generosity
of outside sponsors. As a result, every donation is vital to our
team. As an educational institution, all donations to the Formula
SAE Team are tax deductible. Sponsorship for our team can take
various forms. Of course, cash donations will be vital to our
success, but we also need materials, parts, and services to complete
our exciting project. With your help and sponsorship, we are confident
that our next car will be just as thrilling as Viking XXX.
Please take time to look through the
past cars and the extensive photo gallery so you can fully appreciate
all the hard work and sweat poured into every Formula car. If
you would like to see who our current sponsors are, please click
the sponsors link on the left menu bar.
Please feel free to send email through the contacts page or call
us at the Vehicle Research Institute at (360) 650-3045 if you
have any questions about our remarkable project. Thank you for
your time.
Sincerely,
The WWU Formula SAE team
